Red Power Ranger Austin St John arrested for wire fraud conspiracy
Energy Rangers star Austin St John has been billed for wire fraud conspiracy.
The actor, who performed Crimson Energy Ranger Jason Lee Scott in the Nineties children’s sequence, was arrested on Wednesday (18 Might), according to the Division of Justice.
St John – true title Jason Lawrence Geiger – was 1 of 18 men and women accused of fraudulently obtaining at least $3.5m (£2.8m) from the Little Company Association’s Paycheck Safety Plan.
The programme was developed to monetarily help small business enterprise owners battling owing to the pandemic.
The defendants are accused of applying for smaller small business financial loans applying falsified files and keeping the funds for private investing.
They are alleged to have collectively attained 16 PPP financial loans and could experience up to 20 years in jail each if found responsible.
“On the programs, the defendants are alleged to have misrepresented content details these kinds of as the accurate nature of their small business, the variety of employees, and the sum of payroll,” a statement from the Jap District of Texas US Attorney’s business study.
St John was scheduled to seem at a comic pageant in Iowa on Thursday (19 May perhaps), but it was announced that he could no more time attend thanks to “unforeseen individual obligations”.
