Michael A. Webster Obituary – Knoxville News Sentinel

Michael Allen Webster – age 65, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away far too early on Friday, February 24, 2023. Mike was born on March 10, 1957, to Allen and Edith Rhea Webster in Knoxville, Tennessee. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of 11. Mike was a member of Fountain City United Methodist Church. After graduating high school, he attended the University of Tennessee- Knoxville where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business finance. He became a Certified Public Accountant and enjoyed a long and successful career. Mike met his wife Teresa at church and they married on March 15, 1980. When he married, he gained a second loving family, the Flanagans. Together Mike and Teresa traveled exploring the US and the world. They made new friends wherever they went and developed life-long friendships. Mike and Teresa were filled with joy when they became parents to Destin and Alex. The family grew when they welcomed Tom Bean, Destin’s husband, into the family. The family spent quality time together traveling, dining out, and playing game nights at the kitchen table – and of course, watching Tennessee football. In recent years Mike met Teresa’s every need as her caregiver. As a loving and devoted husband, as well as a father, he was an extraordinary role model. We are all simply better people for having known him. Mike was predeceased by his father, Allen Webster; father-in-law, RB Flanagan; and grandparents. He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa; daughter, Destin (Tom); son, Alex; devoted mother, Edith Rhea Webster; mom-in-law, Fredda Flanagan; brothers, Greg (Laura), Glenn (Tonya); brother-in-law, Mike (Carlene) Rich; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Mike by donating packages of chocolate chip cookies (his favorite) to your local food pantry. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Roseberry Baptist Church at 3:00 pm. Friends and family welcome those attending the celebration of life to a casual reception at the church after the celebration of life. Please bring an appetizer or a dessert in a disposable dish if you wish to attend. “But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus” from Acts 20:24 NLT.
