Delphi murder suspect Richard Allen begs for public defender: ‘I throw myself at the mercy of the court’
Richard Allen, the Indiana gentleman a short while ago charged with murder in the 2017 Delphi murders of two younger ladies, is requesting a public defender soon after knowing he could not afford a personal 1, according to nearby reports.
Indiana authorities have billed Allen, 50, with murder in relationship with the Feb. 14, 2017, killings of Liberty “Libby” German, 14, and Abigail Williams, 13. He is getting held on $20 million bond.
Allen, in a handwritten letter to the Carroll County Circuit Courtroom acquired by FOX 59, stated he is throwing himself “at the mercy of the court docket” and “begging” to be presented “with authorized assistance in a Community Defender or no matter what help is obtainable.”

Indiana police say German applied her cellphone to snap photos of a man going for walks across the railroad bridge shortly ahead of her and Williams’ bodies ended up discovered on Feb. 14 in a wooded region close to the Delphi Historic Trail. German also recorded the gentleman considered to be the killer buying the pair “down the hill.”
